So what is this all about? In short, we have to design and fly a craft off a 6 meter platform, into the harbour at V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. About 400 teams entered the competition, with 46 teams being chosen to participate. We managed to secure a spot, being 1 of only 6 Joburg teams. Our entry can be seen below.
So you will see that our theme is Mexican, and as such, we are building a giant flying Chili! Arriba Arriba!
Of course, this is a competition, and we will be judged! There are three equally weighted categories, namely Creativity, Showmanship, and Flight Distance.
The event happens on the 8th and 9th December 2012. On the Saturday (and on all our preparations up to the event), we are judged on Creativity, when our Chili will be on display in a Hangar at the Waterfront. And then on the Sunday, we are judged on Showmanship, and on the Flight.
What do we need from you? Don't worry, we don't need your money! We just need your support! In any way you can! Read and follow our blog, add comments, post it or share it on facebook or twitter, send comments...basically just get the word out and support us on our Giant Flying Chili!
